Sheepshead fishing really heating up and boaters report thousands visible just off the jetty shore. Live shrimp is the bait of choice. I had a 40 pound Black Drum on for about 30 minutes yesterday and finally broke off on the sharp barnacles lining the rocks.

Whiting also very good but too small to keep at this time. Millions of small minnow type fish now along the Jetty and locals say the Spanish Mackerel are soon to follow with those hatches in place. Hoping to see that before I have to leave for Lake Texoma next month for the striper extravaganza Spring fishing.

Jetty still hot for Sheepshead and seems to be all you want to catch mostly. Good on live shrimp and even fresh frozen okay at times. Millions of minnows hatched along the rocks there so Mackerel soon to follow.

Trying to fish in the dark and got a new light. Seems good but its still hard to do. Broke a new rod and just made me mad. Oh well. Tomorrow, surf fishing up at MP 5. Large whiting, reds and flounder reported there. One lady said she cleaned 25 whiting of large size. I am ready.
