This morning dawned with extreme winds rattling the windows and the reverse 911 calls went out very early advising people to evacuate the town of South Fork south of Hwy 149 by 9 am. Both of the highways thru town are now closed for safety reasons and to allow both emergency responders safe access to the fire areas and to prevent looting.
It is so sad that following a disaster that looters would take advantage of other people and their losses.
I awoke this morning thinking about the 100,000 men, women and children killed so far in the war in Syria. Some died horrible deaths with chemical weapons. Everyone here is safe and evacuating and its just stuff. It is sad to lose one things but it still needs to be kept in perspective. We are fortunate in this country to have insurance and the means to help others so chin up, persevere and count your blessings this day. Families and grand children all okay and no one is threatening to gas or poison them. God is good to us still. kk
